Quite Urgent - 2012 Glove Box Fuse Diagram
Discovery at dealer for last 2 weeks so I can't check for myself.
Please could someone tell me what fuse F60 on a 2012 Discovery 4 HSE is identified as being used for. I don't know if other MY's are different but and online manual for MY 2015 identifies it as an empty unused/unidentified position but dealer says it is to do with airbag system/relay.
Many thanks,

According to TopiX, fuse 60 in the glove box is unused on a MY12. The Airbag SRS system uses a 10A in position 56. Can't be more help than that I'm afraid.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Thank you Dudleydisco.
LR has advised that due to a third party accessory being wired into F60, on the CJB, it has caused a problem with an onboard relay which in turn has caused an intermittent airbag module failure.
I'm still not convinced this is the reason for the failure and I am unable to prove otherwise but I need the Disco back after 2 weeks so have to pay £££'s to have it fixed.
A word of caution to anyone that has an accessorry connected to the CJB as it could be an expensive mistake.Discovery 4 HSE Santorini Black 2012

How long has the 3rd party accessory been fitted for before the problem arose?
Most LR vehicles have been riddled with electrical problems due to all the electronics in them, any excuse for dealer to come away with that so they don't pay out on warranty repair.

I've had piggybacks in glovebox fuses for years now for dashcams on punto, mini, RRSs and disco sport without issue so this sounds worrying Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

The third party accessory, in my case, was a dash cam and it has been in the Disco for several months. Apparently this caused the air bag modules to fail every 5 to 7 weeks.
The Disco has been at the dealer for the last two weeks for further investigation into the ongoing air bag issue. They originally suspected the tow bar electrics, tracker and dash cam but could not positively identify any of these as the cause. They fitted an overlay harness to the air bag module and carried out other test but this did not identify or eliminate the fault.
During this 2 week period the dealer has been liaising with LR and yesterday they found an archived document relating to an air bag failure which was caused by a 3rd party accessory fitted to F60 of the CJB and concluded that this was the reason for my failures and therefore they would not cover this repair under warranty. They did not say what the accessory was in the previous case.
I was then given two options. The first was to replace the defective air bag module or secondly to replace the air bag module and the CJB as there could be potential damage to the non replaceable relay. They also advised that I may need to replace the keyless module when the CJB is replaced.
My dilemma is if the air bag module only is replaced and it fails again I would have to pay for another air bag module and a replacement CJB as LR will say the suspect CJB is causing the air bag module fault.
If I replace the air bag module and the CJB and it fails several weeks later, I would not receive my money back even though it proves these were not the cause of the original fault.
They effectively have me over a barrel and I need the Disco back, so reluctantly I was going to opt for changing both module and CJB and possibly the Keyless module but during a conversation with the dealer, just before close of business last night, I decided to take a gamble and replace just the air bag module.
I am hoping to get it back today as they already had the air bag module in stock because they knew this had to be replaced whatever the outcome.Discovery 4 HSE Santorini Black 2012

I'm no expert but I've never heard of this on any of the LR forums I use and know lots of owners with dashcam piggyback to glovebox fuses. This sounds like an excuse to avoid warranty payout Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I agree Muddy.
All tests, as far as I am aware, were inconclusive but unfortunately LR are basing there decision to avoid a warranty payout on an old archived document that has happened once before. I do not know the age of this document or if it even relates to a D4.
Up until this document was found yesterday, I had been told that the air bag module would be replaced and I would not use the dash cam, any of the 12v charging points around the car, the usb port or the EPB button for 2 months to see if the fault reappears. If it did not fault then I was to reintroduce each item (excluding dash cam) one by one over a period of time to identify if any of these items was causing the problem.
Unfortunately, if I want my D4 back I have to pay.
And just in case you are wondering about the EPB, this was introduced into the equation as I mentioned that I got into the habit of double pressing the button as it would not always release after a single press and the possibility that it could be related in some way.Discovery 4 HSE Santorini Black 2012
