Hi Everyone
I have just joined the forum after purchasing my first Disco and I am amazed at the amount of excellent information available within the forum. I come from a long history of V8 110's and later a Defender 2.8i. In my early middle age I required something more comfortable for long trips for and I opted for a 2008 Disco 3 TDV6 S model.
To date I have fitted the LR nudge bar, Bridgestone D694 265/65/17 tyres and have installed a National Luna dual battery box in the boot. Next on the list is a snorkel (probably LR), an African Outback roofrack for my Eezi-Awn, spare water & diesel and Takla air jack with exhaust bung.
What do you recommend in terms of seat covers? The new ARB bull bar for the Disco looks awesome and seems to be airbag compatable but LRSA would probably have a fit about warranty issues.
I look forward to be a reasonably active member of the forum.

Welcome to the forum.
It looks like we are getting soft the older we get. Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?

No Pierre - as I'm constantly having to tell the others I'm not going soft - I'm evolving .
Welcome Doc - I also have a 2.8 defender which was the best engine option ever IMHO for a defender . And now you have a TDV6 - way to go

Hi Guys
Thanks for the welcome. I got great reliability from my Defender 2.8i over an eight year period covering 240 000 km. I was a bit sad to sell it but the D3 is such an awesome vehicle. I can only hope that it will be as reliable as my Defender.

Welcome Doc !!
You will find that quite a number of D3 owners had (or still have) Defenders or series vehicles. I never went for the interim and "jumped" from Defender straight to the D3 - although I will keep the Defender.
I regard the D3 as an awesome off-roader with all the comfort and space of a luxury vehicle at a "reasonable price".
As far as the Land Rover marque goes - well I believe we are all a bit "strange" in this regard, but convinced it is fanatics like us that will assist LR to become a truly trusted brand !
PS - I have no commercial ties with LR whatsoever

the D3 one looks nice but check on airbag compatability.
They are airbag compatible, and a great alternative to M&M. Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?

You went soft, errr sorry, evolved a long time ago. Had to find the suitable replacement for the BM.
D3 fitted the bill. Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?

Thanks Catweasel, the Escape seat covers look great. Is their quality better than the Taklas?

Have had Melville&Moon, LR, various other flavours, and lastly Escape Gear.
Same quality as Melville and Moon. Nothing beats it, not even M&M
Value for money, it's right up there. Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?

Thanks Pierre - it seems like I should go out and invest in a set of Escape seat covers.

As they say ; "but don't just take my word for it"
Start with comparing prices. Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?
