have you ever visited the Paris Motor Show? |
|
I am looking for tips on visiting the show in October to see the new Discovery 5 model.
It’s a long time since I went to any Motor Show and was wondering how easy it is to get onto the Land Rover stand.
Is it a free for all or is it “fenced” and a queue to get on?
Any advice in particular about the Paris Show and the location?
Cheers

I work most years at Geneva, Paris and Frankfurt shows. They're all pretty much the same, once you're in you're free to wonder around all the halls. From memory I thing Paris has at least 7 or 8 large halls so be prepared for a lot of walking.
LR are usually in hall 1 near the Boulevard Victor entrance. Parking is usually a bit of a nightmare so when I'm working I leave my disco on-site and usually take the trams/metro to and from the show.
I haven't been told anything yet, but I expect security might be a bit of an issue this year and the crowds are likely to be heavy around any new model launched. If you can get into the press or trade days it'd help - (29th 30th ?).
A lot depends on what else is being launched at the show... if Jaguar are showing anything pretty on the stand next to LR then it should be quieter!

My lad and I went in 2014 and it was controlled access to the SVR RRS but everything else on the stand was open and available.
Flew in to Charles deGaulle then took the RER B train down to Cité Universitaire. From there we stayed in a hotel on Boulevards des Maréchaux near Porte d'Orléans Metro station ..... this gave good access into central Paris and there were trams outside which ran down to the expo centre. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I go every every time its on, part of my job, crews control do you work for LR? it would be good to meet you if you are there this year. I also do Geneva and Frankfurt and for my sins Los Angles
The public transport is very good in Paris (watch out for pick pockets ) so it doesn't really matter where you stay and the show is only a few euro's to get in. I'd stay away from the weekend as its the busiest time. Even if its cordoned off you can still get on they just don't want loads around the car at the same time 2006 D3 HSE
