Back on the grid - Photo's added. Now pic heavy.

On our way home the most amazing trip to the Hebrides with the tin tent! We've been to Arran, then on to Islay. Hardly any phone or Internet, no electric hook up, just fantastic scenery and whisky!

Photos:

Our camp. It was just the most perfect spot. Fantastic view. Stones throw from deserted beach. No mod cons such as phone service, internet, electricity. Just a stand pipe for4 water and a basic toilet block in the farmhouse.

Beach. The sea was surprisingly warm!

Sunset. We saw so many spectacular sunsets! I have 100's of photos!

Home! Islay to Stockport, towing tin tent. 3 ferries, via kintyre peninsula and Arran. 12 hrs start to finish, 5 1/2 hrs of which were either on ferries or waiting for them.

Disco never missed a beat and I can still think of no other car which I would do such a journey in. There were some really terrible roads, and the caravan was pretty heavy, so it, and the car took a beating.

Better photos tomorrow.

We spent 5 days on Arran in May with the caravan. It was pretty tough towing from car ferry to north of Island but even at 11years old the D3 did it with ease. Well worth the trip and wished we had stayed for a few more days.

That's very good!

The midges were a bit annoying from time to time. It was usually too windy for them. However, as soon as the wind dropped, they were there.
