In the times of countless tales of woh from main dealers I would like to give a big thank you to Marshalls from Melton Mowbray
My dad was down there today to pick up a towbar for his RRS , second hand after Stratstones at Doncaster didnt want to know about the recall on the detachable ball as the previous owner had fitted the heavy duty tow bar without arms so any wear was through missuse , to the point they spoke to him like a child , hes a pensioner , not daft as hes an ex Truck mech.
As hes was turning around in a car park down there the steering went very stiff , looks underneath , fluid all down the underside a doors too.
So hes now stuck , new steering rack was fitted less than month ago by Lawsons near Blidworth in Notts
So Marshells are close by so off he limps
Marshells put it on the ramps , spotted the feed pipes had beed poorly routed and a union cross threaded, did a temp repair by double seeling the union to get him home.
Over an hour and no charge
Whilst he was in the service department he was chatting to the staff in regard to the detachable tow ball, off the record a load of crap use it and remove it and it will be fine
2 of the lads tow caravans regularly without issue
but obviously up to all of us to make are own mind up
Anyway point is not all dealers are bad guys with just money on thier mind
He stooped of at Lawsons on the way home and they helicoiled it but will fit a new one if he has any issues
