Just fitted mine and I'm relatively happy with it.

My only gripe is that I'm 5'10" so exactly average male height and would definitely not be able to sit in the back. Sitting in the seat I'm hunkered down and my head is firmly against the underside of it. I think you would have to be 5'7" or even less to fit underneath.

But row 3 is seldom used in our car(3 times a year max)and if it is, it's generally for kids only so I can live with that.

I like the xanadoo but with a dog this is really handy for 99% of our use.

Since my last post we had a trip to the panto and my 9yr old daughter had to sit in the back. Her head was too close for comfort or safety. It was easy to remove the shelf with the 4 handwheel bolts but the metal bracket is still too close to her head for complete peace of mind.

Please could someone put up some dimensions of the upper loader especially the mouth. Looked on the mantec website but there doesn't appear to be any info on it.

Also interested in this as looking to store gas canisters up there. I use the big EN417/Jetboil cans, was going to use a bungee to keep them in place at the side.

Big boy can in bottom left with coffee pot. Thumbs Up

I'm interested in one of these as well.

Has anyone discovered a box that will fit in to it? I was thinking along the lines of a storage box from the likes of Lakeland. Similar to the underbed type boxes.

I doubt a box will fit in it - there is a lip to get over, as in, the back of the car.

I have small items mostly in canvas bags up there at the moment. Light off road gear, rations, water etc..

Just tried these 3 boxes.

The one on the left is the traditional stationary box file and this will fit in whichever way around - it's not to long and doesn't foul on the roof. 3 inches deep and 14 inches on its longest side.

The Karcher box is too deep to get through the 5 inch gap. The box is 5 inches deep but the angle fouls on the roof.

The centre box fitted too which is 4.5 inches tall and 10.5 inches long.

Very useful, thanks. Thumbs Up

Something to consider for sure, as I do carry a fair bit of kit around most of which isn't terrible heavy (apart from the selection of bow shackles) and the spaces under the mid row seats are crammed.

I have managed for over 10 years without one though. Laughing

Mine holds all the lightweight things that were once on the sides of row 3, roll up waterproof coats/trousers in bags, hats, gloves, travel rugs etc.

There also a large torch up there and one day I will stop it rattling with a piece of matting Thumbs Up

About the rattle as mentioned by BBDisco3, I have a spare 2 litres of 'Upol raptor' coating so was considering coating this rack to help dull the tinny sound of it.

The actual rack doesn't rattle, its very secure and no movement from the fixings.

However, the torch is hard plastic and tends to easliy slide on the smooth rack when going around corners. One day I will gert around to putting a piece of anti slip matting under it. Thumbs Up
