Can a decent nights kip be had in back of D3

Hi All,
Occasionally I want to go to Venus where a night away fro home , for 2 people is needed and I don't want to go to expense of roof tent etc I was just wondering whether a good quality bed of some description is available to simple put in back of a D3. Me and SWMBO are around the 60 mark so we do need our comfort more now as we feel the twinges

Comments welcomed

I was thinking something a bit more portable to be honest. Something that is comfortable yet functional and can easily be stored when not required Thumbs Up

Well, depending on planetary alignment it's approx 26million miles from Earth, so on fuel capacity alone, I reckon you're going to be a tad short but hey, good luck with it. Mr. Green

If your D3 can make it to Venus its doing better than most, and trip would be a bit more than one night Rolling with laughter (Narpy beat me to that one)

Anyway, what about an inflatable matress. You could inflate it using the 12v socket in the rear on the Disco, and pack it away when not needed. You'd just need some pillows then.

I work shifts and occasionally the opportunity for some sleep arises... I manage to bed down comfortably in the back of the D3 on a decent air bed and I'm 6'3"

Size isn't an issue, warmth and darkness is Wink

Something like this should do the trick Thumbs Up

https://www.simplyhike.co.uk/products/Vang...0wodRV8Nxw

There is now a fair choice in thickness and length and prices vary.

Easy to deflate and pack up nice and tidy. Use these mats all the time now, though not that one in link, the main thing I have found is to avoid the ones with a shiny slippery covering as they tend to slide around a lot or you do on top, but plenty out there with a cloth finish on now.

Usually find a little inflation help is needed but nothing that will see out of breath and trurning as red as beetroot Thumbs Up

I've had many a comfortable night in the back of the D4, either a mattress or airbed is fine Thumbs Up

Double air bed fits perfectly, only problem I had was one person rolls over and the other gets bounced around. Going to try this weekend with a single mattress

We made the error of leaving it until well after darkness before deciding where to stay. I didn't record the routes we took earlier as I didn't expect to come back to them. I recognised a track from memory, took it then stopped out of the way. On the route where we ate lunch overlooking the fort, can't remember the name, began with a V.
