Mountain bike insurance and caravan sites
Hi all
Following my other thread of looking at bikes, prior to purchasing I'm looking into insurance options as it would Appear it could be an expensive bike lol
I have had a look but most companies seem to only cover 12-24 hours at an address other than your home.
When with the tintent they could be chained to a tree or similar for the stay or the back of the disco. Does anyone know of a company who would cover for this use?
Many thanks

You should get insurance under the relevant pedal cycle section of a home policy. Usual conditions generally apply of the cycle being chained to a suitable fixture when outside the home and world wide cover usually applies.
If high value then it may be you have to change your home insurance to a firm who will accommodate the cycle.
Most insurers are ok with up to a £1000 or so per cycle after that it's becomes a more limited market - but it still doesn't have to be costly.
Find a local Insurance Broker and don't rely on buying off the Web as you could easily find you have purchased the wrong product.
I have all 4 of my bikes ( just shy of £9000) on household insurance. All declared values, and covered away from home - when locked 😉. Think premium increase is marginal.Si

Cheers gents! I'll give the house insurance a call. I assume they'll probably have a list of approved locks or similar.MY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

Ditto - though mine never locked when out - lock weighs to much to carry and it never leaves mine / mates sight

If you're looking at home insurance, try pedalcover. I've been with them for a few years now. e
