This could be a very short thread but I like it and have ordered a HSE 3.0 variant.
I am not coming from the Disco world but have owned 2 RRS1 models.
The RRS2 is for me too expensive and has a smaller boot than the RRS1 and interior wise did not seem all that different.
THe D5 is a much better upgrade from the RRS1 and seems more of a logical progression.
I understand it has lost some of the attraction of the D4, but having seen it, sat in it and generally crawled over it......I love it!!
Head down now.

I can see your logic in that. Think it looks great in black too

It looks nice but I'm still sitting on the fence at the moment, waiting to see how much of a pain the event flap thing is, I'm not too fussed at the loss of the split tailgate but really don't see the need to engineer a flap.
I've submitted my spec to my dealer currently it's

I am actually toying with the idea of a 2.0 SE with a few additions. A snip at £53.5k...
I like the flexibility of the seating options but I would rather have manual control of them than electronic.
And £700 for a detachable tow bar, they can F right off with that one!!!De-Tango
V8 Brakes
EGRs blanked
Running boards
3 flash indicators and clock on dash

"...........And £700 for a detachable tow bar, they can F right off with that one!!!"
My thoughts exactly.
I too have specified (and ordered) and SE with a few bits and pieces. To be honest, I've had three scenarios which revolve round Part-Ex prices as decision day approaches. All are north of £51k which isn't hard to achieve when it costs £830 for a paint job.
I'm not going for the TDV6 for two reasons:
1. Cost - regardless of the FV or whatever. I'm a cash buyer so that makes little difference to me.
2. The explanation by the chap at the LR Visitors Centre during the launch visit who managed to convince me that there was little difference between the two engines except when you floor it at 50mph. [/i]Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

I like the D5 and want one but with the possible practical issues for me I'm waiting until its in my dealers before jumping off the fence. Mind you SWMBO did hint at the option of keeping the D4 for her and me getting the D5 today need to sloooooowly and carefully work on that one MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

I think the D5 needs a light exterior colour. So I'm hoping that a lighter colour makes its way up here, preferably Orange. My dealer is expecting a 2.0 SD4 HSE.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

I'm expecting to have to fight for the opportunity to get near it with everyone else wanting to do the same. I hope we all get a chance to play unhindered.
