24000 mls service
How much should I expect to pay for the 2nd (24000 mls) service, has anyone had this service done by Lakeland, Ripon LR, Armstrong massey or another dealer that isn't too far from York area.
Shouldn't the 2nd service be 30,000 miles? The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

If you're in the York area, I would forget Armstrong Massey - they'll want at least £500, plus a mention in your will and a 2nd charge on your house.
Lakeland are apparently very good (as well as being a site sponsor ), but a bit far from York.
Ripon are your best bet - give them £350 (they'll start off wanting slightly more). They're a bit yocal, but should also offer you wither a D3 or FL2 to pootle about in for the day. Their service dept is also open on a Saturday, too, which makes collection easier They probably do a pick-up/drop-off service, but I've never needed it.
Ronp lives up in these parts & might agree with the above (although I think for a loan car, Ripon lent him a Mk1 Cortina or something similar!)
hope this helps...DGRR

My local Scamstones phoned this morning saying did I want to book mine in for 2nd service, as its due at the end of this month. Well in actual fact it's not due until end Nov / early Dec. I corrected them and asked the cost ........... £455 incl vat. Mmmmm, I think a trip down to Yeovil may be in order.

Bodsy, JMC, yes 24000mls service is what the lady at Lakeland said, the car is 2 yrs old in December and at present has about 18500 mls on the clock, we just planned on getting it serviced every year, so would it matter if it had a 30000 mls service at say 19-20k mls.

Not at all Dave - this is the correct way to go. We were simply picking up on the 24k rather than 30k aspect of your question. The D3 has a 15k/yearly service schedule, so you are basically looking for a 2nd year service irrespective of mileage. Looking forward to seeing the 'Lady at Lakeland' myself soon as I'm on 26.5k The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom
