Replacement stripped engine - LR063285 |
|
Folks,
Throwing this out to all the forum in the hope that someone with experience will be able to answer what, to me at least, is a simple question that seems to have confused the pants off LR CRC.
I have a D4 that was fitted with a replacement stripped engine by a LR dealer shortly before I bought it - the part number shown in the invoice is LR063285.
The question I have asked LR CRC is whether the replacement stripped engine came fitted with a new cam belt or whether I need to get one fitted at the 7 year service next spring? I am pretty certain it comes with a cam belt fitted but want to make sure so that a) if not I get one fitted when the car is 7 years old or b) if so that I don't pay for one to be fitted when it is not required for another 6 years!
It would also be nice to know what other components are fitted to the stripped engine as supplied and what gets removed from the old engine and refitted - specifically items such as injectors and glow plugs as the colder weather has seen a recurrence of the unburned diesel smoke on start up that I had when I first got the car back in January and which to me is symptomatic of insufficient heat in the cylinders or over fuelling on start up - a bit like my old 90 Turbo Diesel.
If anyone has fitted one of these genuine stripped engines and knows the answers it would help me greatly.
