MY65 D4 HSE with a few added bits
Hi all,
About time I stuck some photos up! Here is my 65 plate D4 HSE in Corris grey. I love the car, it's a real pleasure to drive, comfortable and rock steady. Needs some Disco4.com stickers though!
As she came when I picked her up from Preston Farm Land Rover, Stockton-on-Tees:

Ok so what have I done?! Well I put an order in with Andrew at http://www.maverick4x4.co.uk for a Front Runner roof rack, rear ladder, roof tent, ARB awning, ARB awning room and all the bits that go along with this lot. I might just add here that Andrew provided outstanding service throughout and talked me through everything I needed to know, first class service all round and something I will not forget in a hurry!
Rear ladder was first to go on, closely followed by the excellent Front Runner roof rack. I have to say that the installation was very straight forward and the instructions and packing were great.

Following this I fitted the ARB awning, with brackets supplied again by Andrew at Maverick4x4. Again this was a very straight forward installation and took no more than around 30 minutes give or take.

Now the fun part! The roof tent, although quite straight forward once again, requires 'baby arms' when it comes to fitting to the roof rack. My forearms aren't exactly small so I ended up with a few bruises and a few expletives were released. Anyway, despite that, it was enjoyable throughout to put together and fit to the roof rack, and I just couldn't wait to open it out...

Verdict? Excellent all round and I am very very pleased with it. The one stipulation I guess if I had to pick would be that the ladder, even with the shower skirt fitted will always be on the outside. No big deal though, not to me anyway.

That looks great what are the plans for protection.
I would fit some lamp guards and a steering guard. Also light bar to the roof rack.

Thanks chaps, I'm pleased with the mods so far. Side steps are coming off for rock sliders and I'm unsure what to do with regards to extra lighting... LED bars or traditional spots etc.

Front runner Glynne. Very easy fit like most are.
Snowman, I do plan for underbody protection by way of sump/steering guards etc.
I spotted a custom front bumper at the LRO show too but I can't decide how far to take it as yet. Thanks,
Adam

Thanks Paul, appreciate the compliment and info. I'm swaying towards LED/laser to be honest where lights are concerned but I need to see some up close before I decide I think. Thanks,
Mine due to go back on ready for 17th Nov. Welcome to come & have a look, can view some Prospeed sliders as well.
Suggest contacting RLD for a spare wheel protector sooner rather than later, wheels have a habit of being stolenPaul.
