B-gg-r . I specified this ( 110 V 0r H) with my local tyre but they fitted the above instead.TBH I didnt notice until I was over an hour away and stopped to check my pressures.
Is Y over or under .... or what are the downsides of keeping them ?

Quick punctures & invalid insurance to name two.........
It's not the Y, it's the 107 bit needs to be 111 to carry the weight.
if that's what you specificed, then the tyre fitter is a ....... Bodsys Brake Bible

Bodsy is right, vehicel is effectively under spec and hence not insured....been through that with my insurers....although they were quick to tell me it wasn't a problem until I made a claim where tyres were contributory....... end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

I take it the numerics= load rating and the letter = speed rating
So speed ( Y)is overspec'd and loading ( 107) is under specc'd ?
Sorry , just need to get my bullets in line .....

A fitter put 18" tyres on my 18.5" BMW rims once... (fronts were 18 and rears 18.5) was told by another fitter that I was lucky to be alive - especially since he asked me what speed I got out of it - 140MPH I said on a private road - DAMN
They were on the car before I took it over, but I had still done a good 15K miles on them and taken advantage of the handling and performance on many an occasion.
GET THEM REPLACED !

yes it is the weight that is underspecced....arguably more critical in our speed limited society....... end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

Ive been on the blower and he's " gone to check" & " will call you back"
Found this info in the meantime Speed rating Y= 186 Mph / 300 Kph
Load Rating 107 = 2149 lbs / 975 kgs

He's given you the RRS tyres, you need to have 255/55/19 111
He's given you 255/50/19 107........

50 section isn't actually a problem, speedo just out a bit.....makes the wheel look a bit naked as well
Bodsy is correct that is the RRS spec tyre (I have one Conti cross contact in my garage ) end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
