2 new (minor) problems today!

Hi guys,

Problem 1. Is it just me or should the climate control come ON each time you start the car regardless of whether you left it on or off? I don't recall this happening before today!! If the air con and climate control are OFF and then start the car, the climate control comes ON without touching anything!! Banging Head . For those that are about to ask the question, the climate control comes ON if you leave it on... as it should!

Problem 2. Radio on any FM channel is pure static sound only, no matter what I try and do (unless switch off or change to AM band). Switch off engine and re-start generally clears the fault but this is the second time it's done this in a few2 days....

any thoughts? Bow down
Cheers
Moby

Radio problem is one i had a couple of months after getting my TDV6. When you start plying with the radio settings, right hand knob and the menu button beside it you, can scroll through all kinds of settings. Some of those are for European available things like TA. TA is for Traffic Alerts. In Europe traffic jam alerts get broadcast over your car radio. However in Aus if you selcet TA 'on' in stead of TA 'off' you will only get static. This may also be the case with other settings but this one is the one that had me shaking my head for a few days. Embarassed

I have always had a problem with FM reception. In places reception will disapear completely and then reapear (in th middle of Mona Vale on a sydney station! Shocked ).
Dealer is going to try to replace with an 08 spec head unit. The new unit is supposed to be better.

Thanks Rob.. sounds logical, I'll check out what setting I have and make sure TA is off. The dealer put it down to software upgrade a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if thats just crap?

Either way it hasn't happened again.
Thumbs Up
