Personal milestone
Well my D3 has made it to 200 000 km. It has been one of the most capable, comfortable and enjoyable 4WDs I ever owned.
Has it been a good investment?
Yes, except for the catastrophic engine failure at 142 000 km (thanks engineering team who signed off on the engine design that has proven to be less reliable than the rest of the vehicle). Most of my other vehicles have gone to 250 000 km before selling (all without major surgery!)LeighW
The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

On the way to 300k with mine, should be there before the year is out.
Thankfully the only major failures I've had to suffer is the repetitive failure of people I've paid to do wheel alignments...2008 RRS TDV6 - Chawton White/Black/Lined Oak - 20's, h/k, sunroof - 350K KM.

Congrats on getting to 200K KM.
A question for you, what caused the engine failure? I also have a 2006 and heading for 300K KM

Despite LR Australia having the chance to have access to the failed engine or offer any help they didn't. The independent that did the engine changeover wanted to strip the failed engine but that was extra cost... and I had already had the hand in the pocket too much for my meagre finances.
However, to address your question Erea, al the indicators were that the bearing(s) had failed so I purchased a short motor and transferred the other components. Fitted a new turbo (as the bearings could have been damaged - engine oil was contaminated with white bearing material).
May your engine have a long life as the vehicle as a total package is otherwise phenomenal.LeighW
