Has anyone got and idea how much the injectors cost for the D3.
I was talking to a friend of mine who is an engine rebuilder and he told me
that the injectors for the V8 F250 diesel (ford) are AUD $5000 each
He reckoned that a lot of the new cars would be tooooooo expensive to keep
when out of warranty, he could be right

Hi Norto,
When the fuel pump died on my D3 last Easter, the injectors had to be replaced. I only got a fleeting glimpse of the invoice which was going to LR Australia from the dealer... I am pretty sure it was something like $400 each.
Cheers,
Rob

Hi Norto,
I suspect the problem with these new injectors is that they support such high fuel pressures, that when they are starved for fuel - they hammer themselves to pieces!
That's what happened to mine - when the fuel pump died (and started leaking diesel direct onto the turbo!)
Cheers,
Rob

Ah - I just remembered one other detail... as this was a warranty claim from the dealer to LR Australia, the price on the invoice would have been COST... no retail markup. That would add a "bit" more. That explains why the invoice price was ballpark with the UK price! Cheers.

From what I've been told, TD5 injectors cost an arm and a leg because the TD5 was only used in the Disco.
The TDV6 is used in lots of cars, thus economies of scale bring the price down. Have a nice day!

No that i'm aware of....
only replaced them under incorrect fuel requirements...not for failing...
D2 injectors are double that price as each injector has it's own electronic brain....controling the squirting.... oh matron TLO has left the building.......
