No radio code on D3
However, make sure the car is completely asleep before disconnect. Make sure the doors are shut, the Park Brake lamp has extinguished and the time has gone from the radio display. About 2 minutes after switch off and door shut.

Thanks for the info. I assume its OK to leave the bonnet up while I wait to disconnect. Is there anything else I should know when I re-connect.

I would like to see you disconnect it with the bonnet closed
No dramas on reconnection. I think you will have lost any trip computer info, and you may have to reset the electric windows and sunroof. You will need to consult your manual for that, I'm not sure.

Hi G Going on from the battery disconnection for my hands free installation, any idea of the best place to obtain + and - supply from. I assume the switched supply could come from the cigar lighter.

That position in the first picture is linked to fuse 65 ( which is blank according to the handbook) which has a 10 amp fuse fitted as standard ...well on mine it has .
I use it for power to phone kit and a speed camera detector no problems G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
