First Service Cost....best local dealer??
I have had my 2006 SE just over a month. It's a year old next month and I have covered just over 3000 miles. What should I be paying for a first service. I have plenty of dealerships local to me as I am based near Doncaster. Nottingham, Lincoln, Sheffield, Chesterfieldm etc. Who WOULD YOU GUYS RECOMMEND??

I asked the same question recently (in case I couldn't/didn't want to travel to Lakeland where I bought it - who were excellent). Had a number of PMs all back saying that they thought Duckworths were excellent. Also, Maltings are an independent ex-Land Rover team near Doncaster who I used to take my D2 to who were also excellent. They say they can do D3s, no problem, however I think I'll stick with a main dealer in the short term.

Use the quote from Lakeland (£230 as I recall) - factor in the fuel costs and then ask your local dealer to match it - worked for me in South Manchester Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I had a very disappointing experience with my dealer in York [the ones I bought the vehicle from].
They couldn't look at a problem I had when I brought it in, couldn't even guarantee to look at it later on in the day!
On my travels I took it into Gordon Lamb in Chesterfield.
They treated me with great respect and looked at it straight away whilst supplying me with coffee.
Excellent service [from that one experience]
