Hi,
I'm new, just registered and posted an intro in the General area.... I briefly saw it, but then its disappeared, its not even in "my posts"
Unfortunately I can't email or PM anyone to help as I'm new.....
I must be doing something wrong so would be very grateful of any guidance...

Hi Everyone,
I've just registered for this site, slightly early I guess as I'm not yet a Disco owner. I'd like to be, but it seems to be harder than I anticipated.
I'm from UK but living in the French Alps and currently renovating an old Mountain Chalet. It's a dirt track to get to the house which in the winter gets engulfed in up to 2m of snow. Thus a genuine reason for a 4x4.
Now I already have an old Toyota Hilux pick up (there were reasons) which I fitted a snow plough too but I need another vehicle and the Disco fits the bill. I'm a little cautious about the reliability on the Discovery (the toyota never breaks down, (wish I hadn't said that) mainly because it has a computer which can say "no" for no apparent reason... but I find its the only vehicle that ticks all the off road boxes and can bat down the motorway in comfort.
So I want to become a Discovery owner.
However it needs to be a Left Hooker... my wife won't drive a RHD in France. I've tried and tried to buy one in France but they are either astoundingly expensive or no one bothers to reply, its just nuts, I'm a cash buyer, reasonable budget, know pretty much exactly what I want, happy to travel to view.... but nada...
So I just thought today that maybe the Disco community might be able to help....worth a shot....so here I am ...any guidance gratefully accepted.
