My 'fridge' is excellent - love it. However I noticed that it keeps running when the engine's off (I can hear the fan). Is it smart enough not to drain the battery?

Yes, go to your local dealer and trade in for an HSE.....
Before you reply, I also have an 'S' and looked at this a while ago. Was not worth the effort. I just have the wife hold the drinks. That's the coldest place I know

Truly not worth it IMHO - I have an HSE with the fridge and it's way too small... I often wish that I had storage space there instead of having the stupid cooler. When I go on any sort of trip I bring along a trusty Coleman with ice in it (imagine that) so no need for the fridge.
What I would recommend if you're after a fridge for your car is get yourself a plug-in 12v one and put it in the back when you need it - will hold more and likely be much less of a hassle.

It's great for keeping cans cool to drink on a journey, but it's not really useable for much more than that. For anything serious, I'd stick one in the boot. 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

Today I used the fridge for the first time, long drive from Berskhire to Glasgow so at the first service station I got some drinks and some bars of chocolate for the journey.
I could only fit one 500ml drink bottle in the fridge, then it had to go 'corner to corner' and two hours later when I fancied the Twix it was 'rock hard'
Having spent the next 200 miles considering the merits of the fridge I realised it's design and size is pure genious. It is just the right size for two standard cans, a ginsters pasty, a snickers and a mars bar - perfect driving food

Genius.
Re: 500ml - can't you invert the rubber top (and click it into the roof of the box) to fit in 500ml bottles? I can't remember... 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

Didn't think of inverting the top, I'll try that on the journey back south.

Are the inner 'tops' readily available/expensive? Our second hand HSE didn't come with one Grey Disco 4
