New D4 replacing 3 month old Evoque HSE
Hey folks been sat in the background for a few weeks now while I've been deciding what to replace my 3 month old MY17 Evoque HSE.
Loved the car however the new InCrontrol Plus is an absolute shambles. After far too many trips back to the dealer to fix frozen screens, failed bluetooth and other such nonsense, and after only 2300 miles, on Wednesday I will be returning the Evoque and picking up a 66 plate Disco 4 Graphite in Black.
To be fair the dealer (Lancaster in Reading) have been really very good in sorting the whole thing out, JLR eventually agreed to a full refund which was nice and I'm really looking forward to many happy years of a Disco 4 driving.
Oh and to those who are contemplating a D5 do so with caution. The new JLR infotainment system, on paper looks great, in reality isn't quite finished and even when it does work the features aren't as exciting as perhaps the advertising suggest.
I'll post some pics once I pick the old girl up.

Welcome.
I'm sure you will enjoy the extra space in the D4 rather than the Evoque. I had one before too, but it really isn't a big car is it? D4 is way more practical.MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

'it really isn't a big car is it' that an understatement...!
I love driving the Evoque, the megnetronic suspension (or whatever it's called) really is fantastic and it will be missed - I just hope I find the Disco as enjoyable to drive - and significantly more reliable...

Hmmmm, try not to use the "r" word, you might wear it out.
Welcome to the madness.

An Evoque to a D4! These cars really are at opposite extremes of what Land Rover built up until a few months ago Have you owned one of these before?
Take a while to get used to it and I'll bet the next time that you drive an Evoque (in it's more natural role, as a LR service loan car ) it'll seem like driving an Avis Car Rental Vauxhall Astra diesel 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Mike,
Did you manage to get a refund on the Evoque on issues with the screen and Bluetooth alone? It sound like you've done well 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

I may have over simplified the problems, they were all related to infotainment in some way or another. Each sw update promised a resolution, in some instances often making it worse by introducing new 'features'
A painful experience but happy with the end result.

I ran our Ewok for 3 years and it was a good car all in all. We swapped for a new Graphite in March as we wanted something that would tow. So far the D4 is amazing you won't be disappointed.

so after a 1400 mile round trip to he the alps in the new d4
Have I made the right decision coming from the Evoque... well based upon the remaining space in the disco boot, I'd say so...
Aside from the packing, the car didn't miss a beat - although I did have to fall back on an external TomTom as the D4 nav system is some what basic, but I can live with that, especially after the Evoque infotainment system was the main reason for the rejection. All in all a happy D4 owner...Evoque HSE Corius grey & Black Pack - Gone
