Oh yes, I nearly forgot about the damage that I sustained to the driver'set door mirrors yesterday. I am currently in Devon, where some roads are very narrow. So I saw a Lexus 4x4 approaching & slowdown down, however he did not & BANG, mirror cover in the road, glass smashed & me needing a change of under wear. He didn't even bother to stop.
Called the dealer & for a new painted cover, housing, mirror, labour, it comes to £425. I was dumbfounded to be honest. I have it being sorted this morning however I may try to salvage some of the parts with glue as the arm still works properly.
An expensive leisurely ride due to some speeding moron.

I think this could be fixed yourself if you purchase parts yourself. 2016 D4 Landmark

Well, I have just been to dealers & they managed to salvage most of the housing etc, just £86 for glass & fitting. I can live with that

That's a result. I've lived and worked in Devon & Cornwall since 1993 and country lane driving has been fine, polite and courteous - until about 2 years ago, when everything changed
Now there seem to be around 25% who can be complete gits (as you've found). I still do all the courteous stuff but, if there's a chance that somebody will go for a gap that just doesn't exist and it looks like they not going to wait when it's their turn, I've taken to driving down the middle of the road to block the lane.
It's a real shame, but it's proving necessary now.

A small investment in a dash cam £100 might help recovering the costs next time. .

Yes, there is a distinct lack of manners on the roads wherever you go i'm afraid. As for the dash cam, I have a business partner who installs "Stealth Technologies" into landrovers, Range Rovers, in fact, most vehicles. I am not allowed to advertise however if any of the site owners are able to contact me, I may be able to offer our services. Who knows.

I now regularly bring in my wing mirrors using the two mirror buttons buttons when I drive down a narrow lane with barely enough room for two cars, either that or I pull them in when I see a larger vehicle approaching.
It's saved my mirrors at least twice when they have been clipped by idiots driving too fast for the road and have clipped them. I have had to clean a couple of paint stripes off them but consider I got off lightly each time. Gary

Living here in Cornwall for the last few years I have my mirrors folded a lot more than I ever did 'up country' - an Emmet still managed to clip them just a day or so ago! head! 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

There are no manners out there any more. The vast majority of drivers are very curious however there is always going to be the minority that give the rest of us problems. Dash cams are a great idea but not everybody can afford them. As Gary suggested, driving in the centre of the road is again a good idea because the other driver will have no choice but to slow down as being hit by a discovery is going to hurt.
I do not know what the answer is, however it will not stop me from enjoying the driving in the open countryside. Perseverance prevails. 8)

It's called Innoo model F1904-a Its HD and loops through on 10 min increments, there is a button that you press to save that increment should anything happen. It's been faultless and great value for money. I have the same one in my Z4 but that's purely for listening to that straight Six now I have the sports exhaust.
