Home Service Planned
I've got everything I need.
While under the car I plan to lube the gearbox linkage, anything else I should look out for while I'm down there please?

Brake pipes over rear diff for rot, even if good well worth spraying with motorcycle aerosol chain lube to stop any future corrosion.
If you have rear a/c do the same for the alloy pipe joints on the nearside sill.
I may be wrong but from memory i think you need two of the bottles of transfer box oil?

That will be next on the list. It looks OK in the reservoir but I don't know exactly how old it is, so plan to get it changed before the tin tent towing season.

Geoff has done a Flush for me. I'm changing all fluids/oil so I know where I am with everything.
For this work under the vehicle I am planning to drive all 4 wheels onto decking planks to give an inch of lift then put the car into off road height, place my axle stands as per this diagram;
and avoid having to use my old trolley jack.
I don't plan to lower the car onto the axle stands but they will be in position should the suspension decide to drop. Wheels will be chocked.

Didn't see it in your display of goodies but get yourself a small pump or syringe, makes the job a whole lot easier.

Yes, got a hand pump, used it on my D2. Was relieved to find D3 diff capacity is considerably lower!

Did mine last year.
Took me longer to get the undershield off than change the oil.
Enjoy.

You are right Discogaz, undershield is the slowest part!
Did engine oil and filter + air and pollen filters tonight after work before darkness set in. Continue the job tomorrow morning. No issues so far and finding my way around new car.
