Light Scratch to Black XS Supagaurd |
|
Can anybody out there help - new 57 plate Black XS treated with Supaguard, some numpty has put a light scratch to passenger door - stands out like a sore thumb any ideas on how to treat? Have tried Supaguard cream polish but not made much of an impression.

Sounds like you need to use ScratchX polish and then top it off with some sealant.
There's plenty of Sealants around that will give you as good (and better) protection than the supagard.
Look in the maintenance & modifications section & search for JetSeal109
Nice colour choice by the way & welcome to the site. Bodsys Brake Bible

That's a good thread Bodsy, thank you. It does answer the query I had about the swirls left by trying to polish the scratch out! So, in a nutshell, do I read this as get a poiish without a cutting effect? If you never try, you'll never know...

Depends on which paint protector you have. If yoiu have the AutoGlym Lifeshine, then use the AutoGlym Super Resin Polish or I think I spotted a new AG called Ultra Deep Shine , but I've never used that one personaly.
Perhaps JKP or Ken can comment on it?
If it's another brand and you still want the guarantee, then contact them to see what they recommend.
On a related topic, does anyone know of any instances where AG (or whoever) have actually paid out on the 'insurance' their paint protection coatings give? Bodsys Brake Bible
