Rumbling/Grinding noise
Coming from the front can even feel it through the excelerator pedal and foot rest. Thinking it's the wheel bearings. Is this typical symptoms and is it an on the drive swap.

Is possible on the drive depending on tools too hand, a bit heat may be required though. Also if original a massive scaffold pole on a huge breaker bar
Jack it up and try moving wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock if a lot of movement then yes.
Replied to your question regarding cheap ones fro A F in other thread = yes good value IMO D3 57 xs Stornaway grey

That's what I was thinking. Don't think AF would sell inferior parts. Think I'll be ordering a pair along with replacement bolts.

Did my mine on the driveway.
The hardest bit was prising off the wheel bearing from the hub. Rusted in solid. Did mine at 130k miles. Big chisel and club hammer. Some heat on the 4 bolts.
Copper greased the inner surfaces. Will be easier next time.
Went for Timken bearings.

If you're still driving round on it then just a heads up, mine went from slightly grumbly to utterly dangerous in less than 30 miles

Parts should be here tomorrow and I'll change them at the weekend. Currently doing less than 10 miles a day. Plus driving like Miss Daisy till I get them swapped D4 MY15 SE TECH

Got all the bits so will be doing theim tomorrow. Can you back the 4 retaining bolts off and then "gently" tap them with a huge hammer to release the hub. Or would it his damage something else.
It's probably the only time during winter I don't want it to snow as I'll be doing it outside D4 MY15 SE TECH

Andy that’s one way of doing it, but wheel speed sensor is at risk best to remove, wire brush the threads and lubricate before undoing leave an old socket on to hit gives a bigger area to aim for gently may be a understatement, how to in wiki and a few more on the net including 3 vids on the tube, all with different tips
If it gets to the point where the big hammers are needed take off the back plate, I took my sensor out just in case but the bearing just tapped out easy somebody had greased the important bits lucky for me.
An impact gun apart from the iidtool is probably the next best bit of kit you can use my hub nut was off in 5 seconds flat on setting no 3 and setting no 1 for the bolts, once the bolts had been loosened they came out very quick just saves some time on the job.
PS soak the sensor in plus gas or whatever if it feels like it ain't going to budge Just may have to leave it in. And a yes It did happen pic
Good Luck
Andy

What an total pain in the
Changed the passenger side today. Took a lot longer than I thought. Lots of play in the wheel will see if I can upload the video. No play in the drivers one at all but will change that one as well tomorrow.
