EGR Blanking! 56plate....
Hello,
I know there are loads of posts of EGR valves, (think I have read most of them!), although I wonder if anyone could help with this? so I have recently had the EML come on, so I ran the fault codes, comes up with right hand EGR. So I do what everyone advises and blank them off. This goes without a hitch, and the engine now runs very smooth, while getting 35mpg...massive improvement.
Although.....the EML keeps coming back with the same fault code flashing up. I keep deleting it but to no success.
I wondered was mine one of the Euro 4 engines that cannot be blanked? Although the car is running better than ever with no problems. It's a 7A VIN, registered in Dec 2006, on a 56 plate.
I would have expected more issues if it was a Euro 4 engine?
Why on earth does the EML not go away?

You can have an egr patch applied without having a remap if you wanted,BAS can do this or a local sponsor near you but as your location is england i cant help you with your nearest sponsor.
Your eml light will keep coming on every 3 or 4 ignition cycles after clearing the fault but with no affect to performance now there blanked Wanted D4s non runners pm for competitive price.

If it's 7a you will need the egr patch. The light is on but you won't have any other symptoms. Some have even managed to get through the MOT with the light on.
Mine went 8 months after blanking without any light. IID tool would turn it off for 3 ignition cycles but in the end I got the BAS patch courtesy of Flack.
Then you need someone (not sure we have any site sponsors in your neck of the woods?) or something (an IID Tool in this case) to apply it.2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate
