JLR Announces To Dealers There Will Be A D5 Commercial
Not sure if this is news to anyone but here goes.
I got an email this morning from my Cumbrian Dealer (source of my last two Commercials) saying in the last 48 hours JLR announced the emergence of a D5 Commercial (just when 'we' all thought perhaps it would never happen) with availability expected late 3rd quarter this year
He thought prices and specs will be published in the Summer when the 2018 models will be made available (as most years have done in the past).
Would I like to reserve a production slot - he has four lined up so far
You could have gone to the Bookies and placed a bet that would not happen............... but it is going to be so
Interesting I thought "Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"

Rather compromised as a commercial don't you think? Smaller load area, narrowing markedly as you go up, tailgate that needs a large space to open, overly plush front cabin etc etc?

Oh I don't know......... a £10K VAT refund has a way of influencing compromises "Track day running - Don't put your foot back on the accelerator until your absolutely sure you don't have to take it off again"

Longer load length, wider at load level narrowing slightly at the top and the current D4 commercial has a leather interior. Not too compromised, at least they haven't done away with it altogether.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

My dealer says they'll be no commercial, if there is LR haven't announced it to them. He did say he would ask when he's down driving the car though.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

My supplier over here has just informed me that there will be a 2 seat Commercial conversion option available in Ireland, due to the enormous amount of enquiries the distributor has had for such a vehicle!

they will sell well here. Will there be a business edition aswell? i.e. A crew cab 5 seat option with commercial road tax in Ireland.

No 5 seat this time, our Government, in their infinite wisdom, are trying to eradicate that particular tax break!2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

Well on the bright side it would be years before I'd be able to afford one anyway, so who knows what would be available by then.... An electric D5 commercial
