Peter, have you worked out why all these reports you post look as though they're from the same place? They even have the same stock shots (we call it 'B' roll) given to them after a quick talk and some 'fine wine'
Sadly, you're not going to get an impartial review from a well organised press junket. No one will want to upset the organisers because they won't get invited onto the next one !!!
I hate to burst the bubble but it's how it works. The best reports will be from people who've actually bought them and kept for a long term test... why don't you write one after you've had it for a year?2005 D3 HSE 2011 D4 Landmark 2016 D4 HSE Lux

I'm posting motoring reports in a motoring forum.
If you disagree with them tell the writer not me.
If you want me to stop posting motoring reports let me know and I will.Peter

Why would I want you to stop posting?
Conversely, should no one question how these review are made?
Questioning sources is becoming more important than ever !!! 2005 D3 HSE 2011 D4 Landmark 2016 D4 HSE Lux

But your comments apply to most car reviews, it is obvious that a lot of the information they write comes straight from the press releases.
Despite that there still is a smattering of the writers personal view usually in the reviews.
Otherwise they would all be identical!

I have no doubt I'll be getting a 5 at some point. It'll do stuff that my 4 does and more. It'll do less of the stuff I don't need it to as well. The video was interesting to see the car from a different angle too. Everything the Journo's say should be taken with a pinch of salt. I remember they said the rear seats in a 4 were suitable for kids on a short journey, rubbish they're full sized and more comfortable that the middle row.

I do tend to ignore the spin and prefer to see things in the metal, having to occasionally work with comms and marketing teams i know how much goes into rigging every word, position, light and angle before they even start with photoshop! Ive only ever put a deposit down on two cars pre release the AUDI A3 and the D5. I went through with the A3 but the D5 even after spending probably best part of 3 hours crawling all over them is still not ordered, i think I tells me something MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

I find the D5 growing on me.
The D3 was largely looked on with shock when it was released. Even the D1 was frowned at by some LR owners at the time (my father wrote for LRO around the time).
In years to come, I will likely own one and this whole "controversy" will be perplexing to the users of disco5.co.uk or equivalent..D3 07 SE - still going strong

The D1 and D3 were very different than everything else provide by Land Rover or anyone else. The 'shock' factor with practicality-over-consumerism and form-following-function was expected. Ignoring the back end and the price the only shock for the D5 is that it looks so similar to the Evoque, Velar, RRS2 and Discovery Sport as well as numerous competitors. Consumerism now trumps practicality and uniqueness is trumped by mindless repetition.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Yes some great action photos.
Also I notice the rear camera gets a much needed washer.

The washer is a good idea but they should have moved the camera to the bootline. Nobody will like the streak down the paintwork.
One of things that really irked me when I had one for a bit was the requirement to fold 2 of the back seats to get at the back row when loading from the traditional passenger side. Not genius and not helpful.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
