Replacement wiper blades !!!!
Got some new wiper blades today used Oem type blades went to fit them today
So took the old ones off they looked a bit flimsy so I was thinking they were motor factor style blades
So fitted the new ones no problem except they were not flush with the screen after looking and scratching my head as to why
Then it struck me why who ever had fitted the last ones had bend both front arms to make them more straight to accommodate the cheap blades so removed them bent the arms into a bigger curve and hey presto the wipe now result
Cheers HendaAll transmission oil replaced
3 flash indicators
All timing belts changed
EPB serviced
De cat fitted
Wind deflectors
De-tango done
Tints fitted
Egr blanked

Driving past Andover in heavy rain the other week on my way to Yeovil, I heard an advert for Halfords 'buy an item and we fit it' so decided to get a set of new wiper blades.
Pulled off the A303 visited Halfords, I couldn't get the old blades off so had the new set fitted, at a charge of £2 per blade, I missed that bit on the advert, and carried on.
On my way back that evening, again in pouring rain, on a stretch of straight dual carriageway, decided to overtake three HGVs driving nose to tail.
Floored it and suddenly - BANG - Bang - rattle - rattle and sudden loss of clear vision.
Dropped back and pulled in to the side of the road - no off side wiper blade
Still pouring with rain so had to do something, couldn't get the nearside blade off and couldn't drive leaning over the passenger's side looking forward so wrapped a duster around the off side arm, held in place with an elastic band and drove very gingerly back to Halfords in Andover.
Entered Halfords waving the receipt in the air and asked to see the manager.
Manager very apologetic, made a note of the fitter from the receipt and fitted a nice new pair of Bosch with an additional blade on the rear as a gesture of good will.
Having driven some thirty odd miles with just a duster 'clearing' my vision my heart was still pounding, so after a little sit down to relax I then drove away with the clearest vision I could ever wish for - still in the pouring rain !!

The first set of Blades were some that were found by Computer for my vehicle, probably some make made for Halfords as they only cost £29.99 a pair.
I saw the price of the Bosch ones and it was well over that.
So apart from the 'Heart in my mouth' ride back I did well out of them.
It isn't worth thinking about what could have happened if I was overtaking on any other road than the dual carriageway but even then if there had been a 'Sunday' driver in the outside lane I could have come a right cropper.

I relied on Halfords to get the correct blades and as he looked them up on his PC would have thought he did get the correct ones.
It isn't always true that 'you get what you pay for' as these days a lot of things are made in the same factory and just marketed with a different label !
