park brake adjuster
EPB used to work, release on drive off great. About 3 months ago the sqreech off death started.
Have read all the relevant info re EPB. tried adjusting through little hole on drum, but could wind up for 10 mins and not get it to lock up [either side]. So assumed shoes too worn, ordered new shoes and pads from AF. Arrived a couple weeks ago, awaiting time off to tackle job. Today the day! Jacked up on stands, wheel off. Flat driver in and another fruitless attempt at adjuster. Carrier off, pads out disc/drum off with a little wriggling and levering.
Found shoe condition surprisingly good. On measuring and compared to new shoes, found only half a mm of wear. Strange. Levered shoe aside and took out adjuster. WELL I say adjuster, star body thread bit fits in other cylinder shaped bit, NO female thread to adjust with. No wonder I cant adjust it!
Bum! need to confirm the true design. Jacked and propped other side, stripped and removed adjuster, WHAT!! same aga

Put a screwdriver in the end and a pair of grips and the knurled bit will turn. That's the adjuster. Pic in the brake bible I think.Bodsys Brake Bible
