Lower steering column replaced
Just had the lower steering column replaced by a local indie (and the torque converter at the same time so not a cheap visit!), they did a really good job but the only slight niggle is the steering wheel is now very slightly off centre.
So my question is: would it be normal to have a four wheel alignment done after replacing the lower column? I’m probably going to get it done anyway but am hoping to wait until I pick my new wheels and tyres up from my sister (whenever that will be)...I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Not 4 wheel for a lower column (assuming the geometry was right before), but tracking the front wheels would do it.Richard

May need the steering angle sensor calibrating and its better to do wheel alignment on new tyres rather than worn ones.

Thanks gents, the steering calibration was done by the indie who replaced the column and I've just had the tracking down (was way out) so good calls all round.
Now driving like she should

If the steering wheel is now straight, steering angle sensor will have been moved relative to straight ahead, so calibration recommended
