Looks like the new vehicles have landed in Ireland
Some photos sent to me by another Disco 'enthusiast', naughty to be taking the pics while driving. Not me, I don't have mood lighting in my older D3!
They were heading out of Dublin on the M7 / M8

They are noting a price of just over €79k for the HSE 7seater 2.0l, there were some ex-demonstrator D4 HSEs being advertised at that level recently, although 3.0 rather than 2.0. Not a bad price at that level when compared against the BMW, Audi and Volvo 4WD offerings, but at the lower level . . .
The idea of paying €59k odd for the base model without leather (or leatherette!) seems a bit stingy.
Refers to a five star Landrover but test only awards four star?

Review in Irish Times obviously not researched very well, because they are offering a 2 seat N1 Commercial based on any 5 seat model, at the reduced VRT rate of 13.5%........ OK so it is not being widely publicised by JLR Ireland (OHM Group) but it is available to order.... Prices from around €54K including VAT. I'll post the full price list if and when they send it to me....2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

Saw one in the Limerick dealer briefly today, Lyons (am not a fan of them TBH following previous experience when I wanted to test drive an XF estate - ended up with 5series touring again).
The photos might not show it but it dwarfs the Disco Sport beside it, no confusing them when side by side. Did not talk to sales guy but it was a HSE - surprised that still no sunroof standard with HSE over here. Looked very nice inside, the light coloured leather and bigger screen etc. Not too hot on the wheels, its bulk visually would lend itself to something bigger.

Hi APL.
Another question for you!
Do you know what the situation is regarding getting full use from InControlTouchPro.
My Dealer is vague. He states that the 3/4G network cannot access the device so therefore only way to hotspot D5 is through phone signal.
Something to do with not having a license for network in Ireland and wont for at least another year.
Does this mean that things like streetview Nav wont work and if this is correct could you purchase a UK sim card and insert as data roaming is now free.
Hope this doesn't sound too confiluted!

I think they are referring to the SIM built into the car, the SIM to buy is the one from Three and although a UK SIM it allows free roaming in Eire, France etc.

Most people will have a smartphone of some sort, but yes the Three sim from the UK should work well.
It's one of the many questions that most of the Irish dealers would not know about.....!!2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

The built-in SIM is from Vodafone, actually a chip soldered into the main telematics unit. JLR's plan was to offer a range of data plans through the dealers at very low rates, but this seems to have been delayed so you are now better off using the "consumer" SIM slot and the 3 plans are probably the best in the market.

Actually, the Three (UK) card won't work very well. I made some enquiries up North and apparently the free data roaming only works when the SIM is used mainly in the UK, i.e. for short breaks abroad like holidays.2016 Discovery 4 Commercial
