Anderson plug wiring to battery?
Finally got around to fitting the anderson plug and the positive lead, but Im not happy with the earth/neg lead just to the battery terminal as its one of them carp just nip it up jobs and I want something solid.
So does anyone know where the major under bonnet earth points are?
How did other people attach their earth cable to their cars?
Thanks

Second battery
I've read and read through the threads but can't find anyone who has installed a second battery linked to the first to aid in cold starting and running the FBH when on remote control. Has anyone linked to a second battery directly without using a split charge, or is it a no no on a D3? All my D1 & D2 had a second battery linked without problems.
Many thanks and sorry it's about of topic.

I have to change the fuse as its ahem 200 amps!
We use pretty much the same set up at work to power the tail lifts from the trucks batteries and also for jump starting (makes a quick jump a doddle!) but Iirc they run 175 amp fuse and I can tell you you can jump start a totally dead 13 litre truck with dead batteries so dead the interior lamps wont light up, for a good few minutes in 20 second bursts before it blows the fuse and you have to change batterie in the psising rain
I reckon 50 maybe 75 amps will be enough, what do you reckon?

For info these are the pliers I used, cheap (13 quid ) and surprisingly not to bad if a little fiddly to use, they have a tendency to crimp the terminal yet flatten little ears out one side so the terminal needs recrimping at 90 degrees to get a nice finish, I reckon this is because the anderson terminals were rated for fatter cable than i actually used.
Im sure if you bought the right cable to match terminals etc this wouldnt be an issue, but I used cable/lugs/parts from my years of hoarding handy land rover parts
All the andersons I have fitted to my previous land rovers I have always soldered.

75a isn't very much for a jump start.
200 is of the right order.

Im not so sure, this is the truck one i blew as mentioned above, but its 24v system so may have some bearing as I think 1/2 the amp draw, but it was an extreme test.
Ive ordered a 100amp fuse but will cable tie the 200a one close to the holder as you never know.

I read on another forum a guy cut strips of copper pipe and put it in with cable so that it's a tight fit and it make the crimp much betterIID PRO

I use a 150amp on my front Anderson but only a 30amp on the rear.
The rear is for charging my camping trailer and running a compressor so nothing heavy. But as said if I needed to jump off the rear for any reason then I have about 5 spare fuses in the car so can swap out and upgrade it as required. All the cables are 175amp 25mm2 and 150amp fuses so far have jumped a few cars no problems 07 Java Black TD V6 D3, EGRs Blanked, Tow bar, Full dog guard & divider, LED Spots , DRLs, GG ATs, RLD Sump guard, RLD Spare Wheel Protector, D4 LED Rear Lights, Limo tints on boot and Midnight tint on rear windows, Kenwood screen with Garmin nav, Rear cameras, D4 Steering wheel with flappy paddles, T-max split charge system, Tree sliders, Prospeed roof rack & Ladder, Alisport fast road inter cooler,
