crossover isn't a speaker but a box of tricks that splits the high and low frequencies to the tweeter and the woofer.

All of the speakers in the car are 2ohm, you'd be lucky to find std fitment replacements at 2ohm, most will be 4or even 8ohm Bodsys Brake Bible

been in touch with karman, also my local land rover dealer
none of them can tell me what size or type etc i need
got in touch with some online radio specialists who are saying i need to take mine in so they can match them
asked if i could just buy some second hand karman, told i can't as i've got a different head unit
there was me thinking it would be a simple thing to do, lol

now that looks nice
going to start with my speakers first
that would be awesome if i would be so kind to measure the speaker for me please , would assume they are the same size front and back
in speaking to several radio companies they've asked
are the speakers co axle or 2- component ????
haven't got a clue
all i've found out, amp is built into the basic current head unit
tweeters look as though they are crossover ones and have the small seperate box
thks so much

IIRC Co-axial or component (think the back of your smart TV for input types) Dave
D3 2006 HSE, Cairns Blue - gone

Coaxial speakers have the tweeter/midrange in the same unit as the woofer - essentially an all in one unit. Separates have them all...separate! 2011 D4 SDV6 HSE
2008 D3 TDV6 HSE
2005 D3 V8 SE - left in Oz..

brilliant , little bits of info like that really help
makes a lot more sense
also looked on the wiring diagrams , showing a mid and high , so assume the mid is the main speaker and high being the tweeter
sorry being abit dim regarding this
appreciate all the advice i can get
today the head unit decided to freeze, no matter what button i pressed it wouldn't do anything , had to turn the engine off and back on again ,
going to pull the head unit , as i think there is an old telephone box fitted, did remove loose wires a little while back , so maybe it's looking for it causing the freeze of the radio
thks
