TDV6 to V8 Brake Upgrade Kits |
|
We have had supply issues with the rear brake caliper carrier over the last couple of months however stock is back to normal now.
A full kit for the front is £187.95 in Borg & Beck or £268.00 in Brembo product.
A full kit for the rear is £172.95 in Borg & Beck or £210 in Brembo product.
Kit prices include UK delivery

Notes:
Yes I know the 6 pot Brembo mod is nice, but its also a lot of bucks!
You need minimum of 18" wheels for these kits.
They fit in exact place of your old TDV6 brakes, easy fit and look like they belong. As standard on the V8 so unlikely to be any issue with your insurers.
You can do the front upgrade on its own but not the other way around. Paul Redding

Steve, what is the main improvement with Brembo? In performance or longevity? Will be due a set soon.

If we are talking my Brembo product, then it's just a higher quality product. Personal taste really.
The other Brembo upgrade talked about often here is to completely replace your existing caliper setup in favour of Range Rover product, only seen that done second hand so far because of the costs involved. Paul Redding

Ok thank you. It was your ones specifically. Not too bad a premium for such an important part. D4 HSE Luxury

You wont be disappointed.
Great bit of kit from Steve and the team.
I fitted the front V8 upgrade last year and the extra confidence is huge.

It does make a difference (I have the front done, with the Brembo kit) but I'm not sure I know why. I needed some new pads and phoned AF to find out what pads I needed with the upgrade kit - he told me the pads are the same size.
If the contact area between the pad and disk is the same, how can it improve breaking performance? Anyone?
(it does seem to help, but I started thinking it may be psychological after hearing the pads were the same.....)

In replacing the brake caliper carriers with V8 ones you move the caliper further away from the centre of the hub thus increasing brake leverage force. The bigger disc also helps with heat dissipation which will reduce brake fade. Paul Redding

I did go from fairly ruined fronts to the V8 upgrades so the difference was probably compounded.
however a few days after fitting I had to slam on the anchors when some truck decided he needed my lane.
Nearly bust my bleeding nose it was awesome.

Dave,
Did you fit the Borg & Beck or Brembo V8 upgrade- the difference is now £80 and i am deciding which to do.
