13 pin caravan to twin 7 pin car adapter

I'm hoping to pick up a new to me caravan on Sunday, but it's a 13 pin plug and I have the standard twin 7 pin sockets on my Disco. Can anyone point me in the direction of a suitable adapter please?

Mike

I was hoping to be able to connect the auxiliaries as well as the external lights.

But until you do it this will do what you need.

I would only use it short term till I get the Disco changed to 13 Pin.

Ive been using an adaptor cable for a 3 years now, with no problems. Has a 12n and s sockets to plug into the car, then a 13 pin to connect caravan. Fridge, battery charge, reverse, fog etc all works fine.

Only drawback is that it makes the whole cable a bit long, and I have to tie it to the draw bar with a zip tie to stop it hanging too low and dragging on the road.

I just wind mine once round the jockey wheel handle.

I suggest buy a 13 pin socket for the car and place the wires from each of your existing sockets into it perhaps? Did it on my 03 Freelander. Cost me £8 for a new socket and two hours finding the key to wire colours on net then the combining of. 8 years later and all is sound.

I would Reply:
