New Leisure battery.
My caravan has just had its annual service. New Motor mover fitted (6 1/2 years old and it had shattered a bearing)) and I am told that the battery is on the way out. The "magic eye" is showing red. Will this hold out over winter merely to keep the alarm active? The current battery is 7 1/2 years old, an Elecsol 110 ah which are no longer made. Any recommendations for a similar type of battery? Forgot to put that the awning light was very scorched and needs replacement. Any views?

Hi
I have a 120ah lucas lx35 mf.
Cost around a £100.
Not sure about awning light, maybe if we knew the make of van we could help a bit more.
Regards

In view of scorching and burn marks have decided to change the whole lamp. It is currently mounted on a large nacelle which protrudes and fouls the Fiamma awning. Van is a 2003 Vanmaster. I now have a clear run above the doorway with just the 2 12v wires protruding. Looking for slim lamp to go just over the door.
Have a look at the Labcraft offerings, quality bit of kitPaul.

Seems very good, is it better than any others I’m not qualified to say. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
DS3 TDV6 HSE- Silver with Alpaca (new one) Gone
D4 HSE Lux - Montalcino Red Gone
Porsche Cayenne V8 Diesel S
Any connection between a fried light and a destroyed battery (no pun intended!)
I use these LED lights. In fact, I fitted them on all sides of the caravan for night pitching on the mover and for dealing with water containers at night.

Banner 95751 is a class B battery and is very good - I would say that cos I've got one in my van.
Positive pole is on right of battery, and it's low height so you can remove quick release battery clamps without having to slide the battery out.
Edit: Because this is a wet battery it will require topping up from time to time (I do mine twice a year) you will need a battery cap tool, which are a bit expensive for a glorified screwdriver, but it won't mangle the battery caps.
