LPG Mod for TDV6 ?

Is there aneyone with a LPG unit on a DTV6, On my trip to the Simpson one of the other 4wd's traveling with us had LPG being injected into the air intake at a rate of 20%, this gave a 30 litre saving on diesel over the 650 km trip from Birdsville to Jervious Station compared to my TDV6. The vechle was a TD5 Disco, concidering the TD5 usually uses more fuel than a TDV6 this was stunning, This needs investergating.

I knew someone with a 30L tank in their TD5, it was fine at the start but he thne removed it as he travels to France a lot and the eurotunnel don't allow LPG cars.
D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

Also increases power significantly. However, not sure what this would do to warranty?

Normally the cost of install makes it not economical for diesel, but the figures you quoted could make it worthwhile. At 25mpg average and 20% LPG that is about 15l of LPG at £0.45 for 400 miles, so about £6.75 worth of LPG. the saving of 30l diesel is about £30, so you save around £23 per 400 miles. But if it cost £1000 to install it will mean about 17k miles before you make any saving after paying the install cost.

We had it on our MPV before we bought the D3, but that was a petrol car running LPG all the time. The car only did about 25 mpg so we got equivalent of 50+mpg so we got the £1500 install fee back pretty quick.

I looked into it here with a mob called eocgas
There is a 20% increase in economy and power.
The gas acts as a catalyst so instead of burning 75-78%
diesel you now burn 95-98%.
Costs $4100 but you get $2000 rebate.
Land rover said they would wipe warranty on any part that had gas attached to it.
There isa mob that will separately warrant the motor but i havent looked into it.

Thanks Norto,
I think this will have to be sat on untill warenty runs out, also not much space under to place gas tank and would rather save the spair wheel space for a aux tank. It would be ideal to have boath.

I just had a phome call from a Ken Silvers.
His company will warrant the engine for up to $5000
for $125 for the remainder of the factory warranty.

With 10 months of warrenty left I will wait, also see if others put the LPG mod on and see how happy they are with it. I know this is not being brave just cautious Whistle
