After Off Roading Maintenance / Course |
|
Apart from giving the car a good wash, top, bottom and inside after off roading, is there a practical guide / do a course that tells me what needs to be oiled, greased, checked to ensure smooth running. Disco 3 specific mores the better?
Does anything exist (South Coast a benefit)?
Thanks
Phil

LR guidance is too service the EPB after 50 miles of 'serious' off-roading.
Not aware of anything else. Last time I went on Salisbury Plain we drove through a couple of fords at the end to get rid of stuff underneath then jet washed the mud off Disco gone

Spent 3 hours jet washing the underside on Monday, wheels off and everything. So that begs the question, where is and how do you clean the EPB?
First outing for the SGS trolley jack that should be delivered today

Rather than strip the rear brakes which is quite involved and beyond my skills, I take the rear wheels off and prise out the little plastic cap from the disk, aim a jet of clean water in to rid the EPB shoes of crud, then drive and brake hard from speed a few times to warm them up and dry off internally. Has worked for me so far on the D4. 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Bit of a thread resurrection, but spotted this one when while searching for "Clean EPB" - after a day away from the tarmac, car needs some TLC this weekend.
Bodsys brake bible explains how to adjust and change pads etc, but not any cleaning instructions. So other than the post above, any other suggestions? Guessing ideally need to take the disk off, but is it just wash it through with water, or something else?
ETA: also, can I do this with the EPB engaged? I have no diag tools etc, so not sure how I stop it from engaging (MY12 D4) MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff
