Rear brake backing plates
Has anyone ever these for sale in the UK ? They must be so much better than removing the rear hub to change after they get rusty
Or is there a supplier who would be able to supply them or even make them ?

Don’t you just need a pair of tin snips.
And if you have a welder to tack them together, then bonus

I've just replaced the original (2007) brake back plates on mine. Was a choice between genuine LR parts or aftermarket. I went with the genuine, as the originals had lasted 13 years!

Same
Though I fitted 5.0 SC backplates, as they were cheaper than standard D3 items
And I fitted 5.0 SC rear brakes too, to match My D3 Build Thread

Funny enough, fitted a set of these.... Snip n weld route, really needed doing and the cables were a right to get out.

Ask yourself if you really need them.
I cut them off my D3 because they were badly corroded and full of holes.
They are not required for an MOT, as long as there are no sharp edges left when you cut the old ones off.
Mine went through 2 MOTs OK without them fitted.

I have removed backplates on many land rovers over the years, but I thought the D3 ones were part of the handbrake shoe mounting set up?
If not that will be a brucey bonus, as mine are past ther best

The part required for the handbrake is the thicker central bit that doesn't dissolve.
The full circle inner bit in rrhools image.
The outer, thinner, soluble bit can go.
