Bit the bullet and used Guy Salmon Portsmouth today to replace the drivers door actuator. My indie is a bit of a treck from Ventnor to Rockingham and I really didn't fancy doing it myself. Book time is half an hour thats what they would charge they said. So went over on the ferry to Portsmouth, got there at the appointed time and the guy says 'do you have your ferry receipt'! Er yes, he wants it to send to accounts for reimbursement. Took 2 hours to fix, sure enough only charged for 30 mins. Very pleasant staff, always pay for the ferry or they can pick up and return at no cost. Very impressed, only thing Whightlink ferries are c , pity Red Funnel only goes to Southampton. Would certainly consider going back there if a trip to Rockingham can't really be justified. Nick

Nick
I can't argue with what you say about Guy Salmon - I use them for routine services, but everything else is done by West 4x4, who are excellent and within easy reach of the IoW ferry:-

I have heard good reports of West 4x4 but have used Rockingham for the past near 20 years, my daughter lives near there so it kills 2 birds with one stone and Steve has looked after my disco since i bought it 8 years ago Nick
