Road Tax ( again)
Just renewed mine and its gone up to £535 which is a 7% increase from £500 (2009 model). If the same increase was applied for the next, say, 5 years you would end up paying £750 p.a. road tax on a vehicle which by then would be 13 yrs old. Is this a ploy to get older high polluting vehicles off the road?
At what point would you say 'that's it! Too expensive'?

only got rid of my 300tdi in October 2015 and I was happily spending £200/year on road tax for that at just shy of 20 years old..

I often think the same for my D4 which now only does a few thousand miles a year. You should have the choice to pay per mile, billed at MOT time.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

If it was fair it would be on fuel. You pay in direct proportion to the fuel you use/CO2 you produce.
