Disco 3 Wheels for a Defender

A friend of mine is looking to fit a spare set of my 18" wheels to his Defender.

Can they be made to fit?

I'd give Simmonites a call for their advice on hub adapters, they're normally pretty good

http://simmonites.com/

failing that I think AndrewS put some of his D3 wheels on his son's D2 ?
I'm guessing it'll probably depend on the age of the Defender though?

I have to agree with that Martin, a Defender looks a bit feeble without bulk to the tyre tread.............

........as do D3's on tyres without a very defined shoulder....IMHO........ Whistle
end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

If you buy any hub adapters. you need to be aware that there are two types - virtually identical to look at.
It comes down to the centre spigot - same issue when fitting D3/FFRR/RRS wheels to Disco 2s, which require a spigot ring to mount the wheels properly - the spigot on D2 hubs is slightly smaller diameter than D3s, etc. although the PCD is the same.
You can buy hub adapters that are designed for D2/P38 wheels to fit onto Defender, and ones which are designed for D3, etc. wheels.
