Detachable towing
I know it's been discussed but every time I do a search the topic it comes up debug mode
So we have a detachable tow bar on just now, it's been checked and it has been passed but we are towing two horses and a 1900kg trailer more often than we have in the past. We feel it would be safer for the horses and other road uses if we changed to a fixed towbar, I think it's been covered that it's a FOC changeout am I correct in thinking this
Thanks in advance

I think it's only FOC if they find fault with the detachable
Edit - actually I've just rethought that. If you tell them the weight of what you tow and that you do it frequently you might get it FOC.

When ours went in we told them about the livestock trailer and despite it passing they still fitted a fixed one FOC, but if its already been checked and you have changed the type or frequency of towing then I doubt you will get a FOC one.==================================

I'd be surprised if you got one FOC considering your circumstances. You could always ask for a discount (they can only say no). You could offset the cost by selling your detachable one too.
