Looking at Buying this, Opinions Requested.
Hi all,
I have owned a D3 for some time now but want to upgrade and have been looking around D4s. The one at the link below has really caught my eye but I wanted to get your expert opinions before I take the plunge.
Constructive opinions would be gratefully received.
Many thanks[/url]

What's not to like about it, so long as it's got the receipts to back up the service history and preventative maintenance and ad hoc repairs. Mileage isn't a lot, just check all the usual mentioned failures and fingers crossed. It's on a second car dealer and not a dedicated site, so be aware that the dealer wants to sell with minimum fuss.
Warranties are available

I can't see it having had its belts changed. If it hasnt then its overdue in regards to time, but not miles as far as i can tell.
Edited to say: Cracking vehicle though! I just got myself a 59 plate Gs with similar miles.4x4 Phase:

Without seeing it in the flash or road testing it, its very hard to recommend.
It reads worthy of a visit though.
Have to seen others to compare it to?

I've only just started looking to be fair. The problem is I'm in Cyprus with the RAF so would have to pop back to the UK and look at it hence I don't want a wasted trip. I'm thinking I'll find a selection and fly back to look at them all over s few days or so.
I'll definitely ask about the Belts, is it the usual 60k miles or 5 year change?
Thanks everyone.

I think the three belts are 72 months or 112k? Just off the top of my head though. The garage that sold me mine were trying to say it wasnt due till next year, and said it was fine cause of the warranty cover. I read the small print which stated the warranty was nul unless the belts and servicing was done as per LR advice.4x4 Phase:

I had a similar situation to you and had to buy unseen, always a nightmare and not recommended. However I also took into account the dealer feed back on Autotrader, then a Google search on the dealer. I also did a companies house search to find the directors and did a search on them and any companies that they had been involved with.
In my case I am glad I did as they ended up spending over well 2k in warranty work. They needed a push to do it though and they were rated at 5 stars.
I have just brought an Iveco and paid to have it inspected which was money well spent.

Almost identical mileage to my XS 8 speed I bought a few weeks ago. Full main dealer history, everything looked good and drove beautifully for 400 miles.....but now facing a £3.5k bill. It's a lottery.
