Somewhere to stay St Malo to La Rochelle
Going to be traveling down to La Rochelle next year from St Malo. It's a lot cheaper to sail on the Thursday than Friday and the saving should pay for a nights accommodation so I fancied staying somewhere with a bit to see, for one night but not too far from the route. Anybody any suggestions?
I am in Millau at the moment but traveling up to La Rochelle in the morning and then onto St Malo on Wednesday. I will let you know then Are you wanting to stay somewhere on route or in St Malo or La Rochelle ?The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

Sean 471,
If you are taking a nice easy drive then I would go to Carnac that is 2.5 hrs drive from the port. Then follow the coast roads on to la Rochelle.

Somewhere on route to be honest. Say 2-3 hours from St mall to break up the drive.

We stopped off in Saint-Nazaire on our way back from the Dordogne last month - worth a couple of hours to explore the U-Boat pens and the Espadon submarine display.

I land at 8:00 so a couple of hours drive and stop off on the way. Just wanted to make a bit of a holiday of the journey, rather than just drive.
