Just been looking locally at approved used D4's at LR dealers.
Are the prices all over the place? One has a 14MY HSE lux with 16k miles for £40K. Dan Sarf I see dealers have 16MY Landmarks for £42-46K - most look ex LR on OY or OV plates.
Even a 14MY XS with average miles is just under £30K.
I know this is probably a swear word but.....the local Mitsi place has a Shogun lwb 17 plate for £31K...5 yr warranty.
I suppose it's supply and demand but it's not even winter yet!

I was in my local Landy garage today and quoted 27k for my March 2015 SE with 26k on the clock.
I expected at least 30k

They must be raking it in. I can imagine they would have given 30 ish for the HSE lux.
There is a 14 GS for £27K. So they would be looking to do yours for 33 ish.

That was quite a shocker today as I always change my vehicle at expiry of the warrantee, pay another 20k and get a new vehicle.
It doesn't look as if I am going to be able to do this come next March does it.
I know it will be for a different Discovery to the 'old' one and probably come with a few more bells and whistles.
What I did pick up on tho, was that the service plan on a new Discovery is only offered for two years as opposed to five for my present vehicle.

Yes, I did see that on the online configuration. But the interval is a bit longer than the D4. The residuals also seem a bit lower on the D5. Cheaper on a pcp to get a base velar than D5. I know they are apples and oranges.
Local dealer said D5 sales tailing off as well.

It's a nice car, but it is a car like thing opposed to a LR brick. Drove one for a bit, 3.0 tdv6, but only higher spec ones have air suspension and no low box option. I liked the central screens but did wonder if they were going to be bit gimmicky after a while and you'd always have the temp control on view.
Suppose nowadays (for me at least) it's mostly about monthly payments on pcp so residuals play a huge part.

My dealer gave £33k for my 16MY (Sept 2015) SE in March, it was already sold when I handed back the keys so I suppose that helped and it only had 7.5K on the clock. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

I just got £34,500 for my 64 plate HSE Lux against my XC90. That was the WeBuyAnyCar price, who had initially quoted £33,900 then upped their offer a couple of days later. When looking at the D5 HSE demo at my local dealer they were more like £33k. I could definitely have seen myself buy a D5 but the price was simply too high.

How many miles were there on the HSE Lux? 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄

£31K for Shogun!!! Before I bought my D4 I looked at Shogun SG5 and the dealer was throwing all sorts into the deal and the best price I was offered was £28K delivered, drove one and that cetainly sealed the deal....the deal with LR that is. £28K for a car that drives like a D2 isn't money well spent, they have a loyal following but I really don't know why. Shop around, when looking for my D4 one dealer had a used HSE Lux with 16K on the clock for more than I paid for my new Landmark.
Good luck. 1970 RRC

2004 D2 TD5 Landmark - Gone
2016 D4 Landmark - Gone

The silly sods were discounting pre registered Landmarks down to £45,000 at one point!!!
I bet they regret that now
It's little wonder that they've still worth at least that and the HSE Lux isn't far behind. 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

I enquired today about swapping mine for a defender of the same Vintage. Got offered £33k for my MY16 Lux with 26k miles! And they wanted £40k for the defender. They eventually agreed to do the deal for a £3k difference but I declined. Thought that it would be at least a straight swap!
Love my Disco and I certainly wouldn't give it away. I would guess that it would be on their forecourt for about £41-43k, i.e. more than the deafner but hey ho I'm happy.

Try putting it through WeBuyAnyCar and I think you might notice a useful difference in the value of your D4 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
