Altox Heater error - Bodsy, help mun!!!!!!
This worked like a dream when you fitted it late last year. Since February I stopped topping up the SIM card as it has been lovely and warm North of Caerphilly (some are even wearing shorts around here) but I thought I'd better chuck a fiver on the SIM card to ensure that EE didn't disconnect it etc as it was getting close to 6 months.
£5 went onto the SIM card no problem via EEs website and now it's showing £4.28 left????!!!
However, when I try to get a status from the Altox device I get the message:
"The device does not have internet connection. Check account balance of SIM card device."
I haven't fiddled with anything, haven't changed anything and haven't disconnected the battery on the car for any other job. So, I'm wondering what I need to fiddle with to get this communicating with the app on my phone?
Do I need to reboot it? How do you do that? IIRC you fit them behind the bottom right panel below the steering wheel? How does that come off? Screw or just a decent tug? (numpty alert)
You did show me some SMS codes I could send to the car but that was such a long time ago that my phone has done some housekeeping and cleared them from my SMS history.
I haven't tried the manual override in the car. However would that work with South Wales bathed in 20 degrees of glorious sunshine?
I put £15 on my giffgaff sim when I put it in the disco. It's now in my BMW as just a tracker and still has £7 left. Something like 8 or 9 months. Mark.

When you log into the gif gaff site it does look like you have to buy a goody bag version, BUT, you do get a further option to buy a £10 pay as you go option that doesn't expire. I have one I bought through Amazon for 1p (yes one penny) stuck £10 on when it arrived and it is now fitted into my tracker. Got sent another sim a week later for a family member/friend to use and when this was activated with £10 they got an additional £10 credit added and I got another £5. Result!!
I've a Giffgaff in another device, you have to get a £5 goody bag each month
No you don't. You can just top up with £10 - and as I used a link off another giffgaff sim I have, got another £5 as well
As I've said. I still have £7 left on the sim since Nov 20th.Mark.

You need to get to the bottom of the bundle listings and try to find the small words that say continue without bundle or something like that. Bodsys Brake Bible
It's definitely possible. I'll have a look again over the weekend as I have to add another sim to my growing list Mark.

I can't see the option on my existing login, but it's definitely there when you initially setup a new sim. Albeit in small letters.Bodsys Brake Bible
