After a wheel clamp recommendation
Hi
My brother-in-law has a 2006 Bailey Ranger 500/5 and we're looking for a wheel clamp for it.
A quick look around suggests that Bulldog clamps, the Nemesis range and Milenco seem good.
We wondered if anybody had some advice that they could offer?
Thanks!

Bulldog Titan are good (check for "sold secure" lable), as are Nemesis. Milenco probably 3rd in that list if it was my chioce.
Only issue with Bulldog Titan is they are fairly bulky & heavy, and you really need to fit a clamp everytime the 'van is parked, even on hols to be safe, so the Bulldog can be a bit of a pain to take with you.

As BLFarrar said these are not subtle but are simple and rock solid, we've used one on our trailers/caravans for years. The chain is long enough to be wrapped round a frame or axle if you want plus they are noisy to take off which is a good thing.

We use the nemesis ultra, once you get used to roughly lining the wheel up its is quick and easy to fit and compact for storage once off. Can't comment on how thief resistant is because nobody appears to have tried to break it. I don't think any device will stop a serious attempt to get it off.
I agree if they really want this - they all plan the time they attack the clamp....then deploy the bolt cutters or angly grinders
the Bulldog one - the video shows the assembly method...I just wonder how many ways (with all the adjustments) there is to get it wrong ?
....at the price of 218 pounds - you can get a couple of triangle ones
if you explore E-Bay there are (ex ?) DVLA ones going for 30 quid...to me a simple & low cost wayBREXIT - done properly.

Very true, problem may be with the DVLA, the wheels on the Bailey will have a circle of holes around the outer edge of the rim around one inch in diameter, may have difficulty in getting a chain through.
Plus the insurance aspect, being a caravan, may have to be gold secure rated.

I use one of these on my S/A along with an alko lock when in storage.
Made by Lionweld, i have two, one with multiple over the wheel brackets and one with an adjustable over wheel. I find the older non adjustable better but they seem good sturdy bits of kit.MY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

In my opinion, as others have touched on is that its only a time thing. A determined thief will get round most security items given time, all you can do is slow them down to hopefully not make it worthwhile MY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

As Jack said, it doesnt really matter which you choose, as long as its slightly better than the chap next door has got, then in theory his gets nicked and not yours. Sad way to look at it I know.
Its the same as the old story, you dont need to run faster than a grizzly bear, just faster than your mate.

To save starting a new thread, I thought I would jump on to this one instead.
Have just purchased an expedition trailer and it came on set of LR Boost alloys with 235/65/16 mud terrain tyres.
I'm therefore looking for a suitable wheel clamp and wondered if anyone knows if those listed above will fit?
