Are D3 and D4's going up in price?
I just spent a bit of time looking at D3 and D4's for sale on the net. From my brief browsing, asking prices seems to be 5-10% above the prices since the last time I looked, before the D5 release.
I also viewed an online wholesale car auction, of a 2014 HSE Discovery, it went for 10% above what I expected it to go for, it had high mileage 80k miles.
Before the D5 release, prices for a low 100k mile mid spec TDV6 MY07 D3, had a median asking price of around 22k Au, now they are more 24-25k
I Still haven't seen a D5 on the road? when the D3 was released I spotted one in the first week of release.
Also, the available stock of D5's on the Interweb, has jumped from 250 in August to 292 in September. The interesting thing about those numbers, in August nearly 80% of the ads were phantom ads, that had a generic stock photo of a D5 with POA. Now over 60% of the ads have actual vehicles with their photos and spec descriptions.

I am very curious to know what's going to happen the first quarter next year. Loads of Velar's and D5's and DS will be delivered, traditionally most cars are registered the first quarter.
Who will be buying the trade-ins ? These are so expensive still anyone able to afford them can buy new, with a bit of a stretch, and get 3-5 years warranty and maintenance for free. Under the bottom line these will be cheaper as young used ones...
And ofcourse the 'anti-diesel' hoax might catch on and leave them with tonnes of unsold new diesels...

I’ve been extraordinarily grateful for the “D5 affect” on used D4 prices, as the used price on mine has remained rock solid over the last 6 months, despite adding 2,500-3,000 miles a month. It can’t last forever, but D4’s should have a relatively strong resale value for some years to come.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!

I've just looked at Landrover's (Aus) August, 12 months sales figures, looks like they are down 10%,
So are other luxury badges.
LRA, stated they had 2 months worth of preorders of the D5, which was around 750 units. The D5 was not available to new owners until 1 August in Australia.
I'm not sure when these sales would of been counted? When the deposit is taken or when they drive out the door.
The economists seems to suggest luxury car sales are linked to house prices and they have started to flatten out in some hot spots like Sydney and Melbourne.
